Foster Wheeler to Be Acquired. Foster Wheeler (FWLT) will be acquired by U.K. engineering company Amec (AMCBF) for £1.9B ($3.13B) in cash and stock. Foster shareholders will receive 23% in Amec which will seek a U.S. listing. The company said in a statement that the transaction will position Amec "to serve across the whole oil and gas value chain," and that, "adding mid and downstream capabilities to Amec's existing upstream focus and bringing new customer relationships."

Walmart Announces Black Friday Deals.

Walmart Announces Black Friday Deals. Today Walmart, the nation's largest retailer announced their highly anticipated Black Friday deals.  The retailer plans to begin its sales deals on Thanksgiving evening at 6:00 p.m. Electronics will play an even more prominent role this year at the retailer, with an expanded list of TV’s, tablets, and video games going on sale. The company is offering a 32” HD TV for only $98.00. Walmart is also expanding its "one-hour guarantee" policy. The policy is that if you're in line between 6 p.m. and 7 p.m. or 8 p.m. and 9 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 28, the company guarantees you'll either be able to purchase the item that night, or receive it by Christmas. This year, 21 items will be covered by the guarantee. According to the National Retail Federation holiday shoppers are expected to spend about 3.9% more this year than they did last year. Walgreen’s drops Medical Coverage for Employees. Walgreen (WAG) is expected to announce today that they will no longer offer health care insurance for employees and their families. Instead the company is expected to give employees cash so they can buy their own insurance on an exchange. The company is expected to site the Obamacare law for the change. Several companies have already announced that they will be dropping health insurance for their employees or spouses. They include IBM and Time Warner, Trader Joes, UPS, and Xerox. Additionally, McDonalds and Dunkin Donuts are looking to get waivers from the law.

Morning Coffee Pre-Market Wall Street News

U.S. GDP Tops Estimates. The advanced GDP reading on the U.S. economy was released this morning and topped Wall Street estimates. Economist had expected that the U.S. economy had slowed to a growth rate of only 1.1% down from the previous quarters 1.8% growth.  For Q2 the U.S. economy grew by 1.7%, however Q1 GDP was revised downwards to only 1.1% from the prior 1.8%.
Areas of strength in the economy included: Residential fixed investment which increased 13.4%, personal consumption which rose 1.8% and spending on durable goods which increased 6.5%.

Upgrades:

Boyd Gaming (BYD): JPMorgan raised their rating from Underweight to Neutral and raised their target price from $8.00 to $12.00.
