CLOSING BELL

Dow 10363.02  +146.75, Nasdaq 2242.03  +43.67,S&P 1095.34  +16.59 
A strong start to earnings season and a stronger Euro helped stocks post gains today.

Alcoa (AA) 11.00 +0.13, +1.20% kicked off earnings season yesterday after the close, by beating estimates and Chevron (CVX) 73.23 +1.38, +1.92%  said it saw sequential earnings growth.

The Euro was higher today up +1.0% after Greece had a successful debt auction.

All 10 major sectors posted gains today led by financials which were up +2.6%.

Trading was moderate today with 1.1 billion shares exchanged hands on the NYSE.
